Google chrome. My impressions
Well, I was going to address this issue on Friday but it was impossible. But as promised, I will discuss my views on the new Google browser today as well, so I got to know a little better.
From my point of view, someone is determined to sell Google Chrome as a "trading platform" (sorry, but we do not call it school is "Operating System" as others say) to work on the web. Okay, okay, then what is a browser? That's basically the same, or so I think. You can do better or worse, but a browser, by definition, we can display web pages, and virtually all browsers have evolved to allow us to run applications on the web, so, for me, is a browser.
On this premise, I think the browser Google introduced some interesting concepts. Using a separate process for each tab, you can save the odd scare if the browser is closed due to an error. Imagine you have a text in a tab (this post, for example), and the browser is blocked by a fault in another tab. May be a good task, which would Chrome airy. I have not had to prove the property with actual errors, but if I closed a tab from the task manager that includes Chrome, and it works without problem.
also gives the feeling that it is quite nimble when it comes to open the pages visited, like Opera, and it seems that the new V8 engine to interpret javascript works pretty well.
In the section of the contras, for me is its design. Simple, focused on navigation and, yes, but still have no clear reason to remove the menus. I liked when I saw it in Internet Explorer 7, and I do not like about Google Chrome. Maybe this is a lesser evil. I worry more about something that I see worst solution for the user. If you copy and paste text in a textarea on a form, copy the text format, with all that that entails. I have not been much research on this topic, but I have not seen any option to prevent this from happening. For reasons not relevant here, is something that I particularly bother me, and I guess someone else will find this "problem."
No cons I put in the vulnerabilities found since, as you all know, the browser is in beta, so you still have work ahead. That if, once again, as happened with Firefox, and now with Internet Explorer 8, is being given undue hype the launch of a beta, users with little experience, they are using as if it were a final version, some if I find objectionable. Since Google always argue that the word Beta, but all people know what this means? And I answer, NO.
For now, the browser is installed on my computer, as I prefer to make my sites display correctly in the from now (I have not had any problems with pages that already had planned, except the issue of the textarea). Continue their development, and we will see how this new product from Google, which, once again, making target marketing is very high.
